Qué significan las listas de prohibidas y restringidas
Cuando una carta está prohibida, no puede jugarse en absoluto en ese formato. Cuando una carta está restringida, como ocurre en Vintage, solo puedes llevar una copia total entre mazo principal y sideboard.
Estas decisiones buscan mantener formatos más variados, reducir patrones de juego opresivos y evitar que ciertos mazos o combinaciones empujen demasiado el metajuego. La actualización del 18 de mayo de 2026 tocó especialmente a Modern, Pioneer, Legacy, Pauper y Alchemy, mientras otros formatos conservaron su estructura general.
Cambios recientes más importantes
Entre los movimientos más importantes del 18 de mayo están los baneos de Phlage, Titan of Fire’s Fury y Lotus Field en Modern, el baneo de Cori-Steel Cutter en Pioneer, el baneo de Undercity Informer en Legacy y la salida de Bonder’s Ornament de la lista de prohibidas de Pauper. Cada formato de Magic usa su lista de prohibidas y restringidas para proteger una identidad distinta. Standard y Pioneer buscan metajuegos competitivos relativamente sanos, Modern intenta evitar engines demasiado consistentes, Legacy y Vintage manejan el inmenso poder de cartas históricas, mientras Commander prioriza la experiencia multijugador por encima del equilibrio puramente competitivo.
Con la actualización de mayo de 2026, Wizards volvió a dejar claro que está dispuesta a intervenir cuando detecta patrones de juego repetitivos, mazos demasiado dominantes o experiencias poco saludables para la mayoría de jugadores.
