Lo llamativo no es solo que pueda llevarte a un mazo de 240 cartas. Lo interesante es que Whtz convierte ese tamaño exagerado en una ventaja real gracias a robo, lifegain y acceso a cartas que normalmente serían demasiado torpes para EDH. En otras palabras: no es una broma de diseño, sino una herramienta de construcción con bastante más fondo del que parece.
Qué hace Whtz
La carta funciona como un comandante de valor que escala con robo de cartas y, al mismo tiempo, abre una excepción rara en las reglas del formato. Esa combinación permite cosas que normalmente no caben en Commander: jugar [mtg_card]Battle of Wits[/mtg_card], aprovechar [mtg_card]Yorion, Sky Nomad[/mtg_card] como companion y construir un plan que castiga a la mesa por subestimar una lista más grande de lo habitual.


Eso cambia por completo el enfoque. En vez de intentar “encajar” una lista de 100 cartas con redundancia máxima, aquí puedes construir un arquetipo que gana por volumen, por valor repetido y por engines que convierten cada robo en una amenaza.
Por qué es peligroso
Whtz tiene una ventaja muy clara: cada pieza que roba cartas o multiplica valor se vuelve mejor cuando tu plan principal es alargar la partida y mantener recursos en mano. Cartas como [mtg_card]Rhystic Study[/mtg_card], [mtg_card]Smothering Tithe[/mtg_card], [mtg_card]Teferi’s Ageless Insight[/mtg_card] o [mtg_card]Alandra, Sky Dreamer[/mtg_card] hacen que el mazo gane por acumulación, no por explosión temprana.
A eso se suma el acceso a loops y líneas muy concretas: [mtg_card]Mind Over Matter[/mtg_card] con suficiente mano convierte el robo en motor, [mtg_card]Intruder Alarm[/mtg_card] con [mtg_card]The Watcher in the Water[/mtg_card] llena la mesa mientras avanzas hacia el cierre, y [mtg_card]Faerie Mastermind[/mtg_card] puede volverse una fuente absurda de ventaja si la partida se atasca.
Cómo gana el mazo
La ruta más limpia sigue siendo clásica: montar un motor de robo y rematar con [mtg_card]Thassa’s Oracle[/mtg_card] o con un [mtg_card]Battle of Wits[/mtg_card] protegido hasta el upkeep. También hay líneas secundarias con [mtg_card]Approach of the Second Sun[/mtg_card], [mtg_card]Aetherflux Reservoir[/mtg_card] y presión constante de value creatures que obligan al rival a responder antes de tiempo.
La parte más interesante es que Whtz no depende de una sola victoria. Puede ganar por combo, por ventaja de cartas o por simple desgaste, y eso lo hace mucho más difícil de evaluar en mesa que un comandante más lineal.
