Maxwell se convirtió en el primer bicampeón del Hoogland Open, usando a Gruul Aggro una vez más en Historic para reclamar la corona. El Hooglandia Open fue uno de los primeros grandes torneos de Historic después del lanzamiento de Strixhaven y las cartas del Archivo Místico que deforman el formato. El torneo tuvo 115 participantes y fue doble eliminación. Maxwell terminó 10-1 en general, derrotando a Dbeard115 en Orzhov Humans en la final.
La lista Gruul de Maxwell no utilizó ninguna nueva carta, pero la lista de Humanos Orzhov de Dbeard115 lo hizo con Elite Spellbinder, Silverquill Command y Selfless Glyphweaver.
